REG 17 MAY 15
Mesere Gaupp & Co of Hong Kong & Singapore have for many years past done a very extensive business in English manufactured goods and represented several of the principal firms in the English Plate & Jewellery Trade.
The partners are understood to be Mr. Carl Heermann, who is resident in Stuttgart, Germany,, Mr. Fritz Heermann, Managing Resident Partner in Hong Kong. Mr. Carl Bunje (whose father is understood to be Cept. Bunje, an American subject) and Mr. Penning stated to be an Englishman, are also understood to have certain interests. Possibly these interests may be
confimed to the Singapore branch of the firm.
The firm opened a branch in Singapore in November 1913. They have always been very punctual in their payments but it has been customary for English Houses to grant the some few months credit and the amount at the commencement of the War was higher than normal owing to somewhat lengthy terms being given, for the initial stock at the Singapore Branch, which consisted, it is believed, almost entirely of English Goods. Mr. Heermann, Sr.
is understood to have had over £20,000 capital in hie business
